Why do men brag about the women that are interested or hitting on them?

I know this guy who every time we talk all he talks about is the women that hit on him, how he feels uncomfortable but sounds like he likes the attention at least to me. He is constantly talking about this and he like to tell me how much he likes to date and that pretty much every night is date night.
I’ve met a lot men who do this, they like to brag but why?

Because it never OR rarely actually happens. Most men talk out their ass constantly, but bragging about sexual events that never happened is their main shtick.
