Why would a guy hurt me after a joke?

I and this guy know each other since 4 months now we had everything together except sex because i'm virgin and refuse to have sex before marriage. So this guy and I spend lots of time together, and he always picks me up after work with his car and brings me home. He got sick last week with a cold and since he give me the fault for it like yesterday he said I better not kiss you or anything anymore you made me sick and today when I got in his car he started again with that I made him sick and that he not getting better I kept telling him how i made him sick when i'm not/or wasn't sick but he kept saying I know it that it was you and then later I joked about us living together and he started saying we will never live together because you would annoy me tell me to go to bed early and always cook and force me to eat which I never did I always try to do good for him it was all so hurtful I got out the car started crying 😔 I know i shouldn't but it hurt me so much.

its too much to be only a joke
many people won't handle such "jokes" well n it would cause lot of issues or triggers em
not all r same n not all handle "jokes" in good way
for some its too much to handle n its pretty toxic especially if its a girl who has true feelings for him
such harsh words can break her from inside n same goes for guys
some guys won't be ok with such "jokes"
one must always considerate how the other side is feeling about whats gonna be said

He told me just yesterday it was a joke. But like how? He was even yelling and talking in bad tone to me and I told him i dont force him to be next to me then he said im overreacting its just was all a joke
