So I got a question why would a guy coworker always say good morning how I am like he can’t even miss a day without saying good morning?

And he wished me a good day yet he will talk some days and others he won’t yet he calls me his friend we used to talk more not sure what’s up with him unless he knows I’m going through something right now and giving me some space bc people been saying I look sad I don't know

Sounds like he's a coworker that is friendly, probably not anything more. Yes I'd say if he knows you're having some personal challenges, he's trying not to pry by giving you more space. I just read nice, respectful guy from this.

Might be challenges in his life too. I got asked the same thing recently also because I'm usually pretty upbeat at work. Truth is I may have prostate cancer and as you can guess, it's weighing on my mind.
