My boyfriend is condescending what do I do?

My boyfriend is condescending and it's getting worse. We only ever argue because of him being condescending. I regret the amount of times I let him help me with something I needed or allowed him to hear something vulnerable about me. He has made many remarks that I think are extremely condescending from talking about my job to saying that I'm weird and people wouldn't like me if he didn't intervene and speak up for my good qualities. I really thought he could be the one but Im realizing there are some bad signs. I confronted him but he flipped it on me and I ended up apologizing but when I thought about it I knew I wasn't wrong for feelings this way. I googled what are some condescending behaviors and he fit the bill pretty closely. He isn't horrible, and he reassures me in a lot of ways. Its because he does so much right that I didn't want the things that he does wrong to overshadow who he is. But I think long-term it will only result in me wanting to leave if he continues. And since I brought it to his attention and his didn't fix it I feel like he wouldn't now especially since I admitted to being wrong just to make the peace. I don't want to leave but Im not sure if I should take some space to try to assert myself

I’m sorry, he doesn’t sound like he’s good for you when he’s gaslighting and putting you down… take time to rethink the relationship, it’s important to be able to listen to each other and be better for each other in a relationship.

That's usually a sign that he is very lacking in confidence which is why he puts you down to make himself feel better about himself.
