Why would he do this?

I wrote a message on a paper and sent to a guy at our school. he seemed nice and sometimes looked at me in the hallway, so I wanted to help him getting to know me. I thought he wanted to be friends or something and he might be friendly. I caught him several times looking at me. I'm very open to new friendships, so this wasn't an exception. I handed in my insta account. he followed. I texted him and at first he was nice. thanked me for sending him the message. then he left me on seen. after a few days unfollowed and so did I. I decided to ignore him at school, but this week he started staring at me like nothing happened. I don't know what to think about it, so I'm just pretty much ignoring him. any idea of why would he do that? and how should I respond to his behavior? also, he's apparently a shy guy and doesn't talk a lot in his class.

Omg, then stay away from him. He is acting pretty much immature for an 18 yr old. You will find better and mature guys along the way who actually have an interest in you.
