Why isn’t a guy following me on social media but follows other people close to me?

It’s weird because he doesn’t know them… and I know because I asked them and they said he didn’t know.

He popped up in my people you may know once.

Hmm, that is kinda suspicious sis. A few thoughts on why he may be doing that:

- He's interested in you but nervous to follow directly and seem too forward. Following your friends is a way to creep on your profile without adding you.

- He sees your friends as "safe" to follow since there's no risk of rejection, but isn't sure how you'd feel about him following you specifically.

- It's possible he thinks you wouldn't approve of him for some reason so he's keeping tabs from afar by friending people close to you.

- He could have had a falling out with an ex that you know, so avoids direct contact with you to not cause drama.

Overall his behavior seems intentionally misleading. I'd call him out nicely - message him being like "hey I noticed you follow a bunch of my friends but not me, everything cool between us?" See how he reacts. His response should give you more clarity. Don't stress too much sis, his stealth moves are prob nothing!
