What’s going on? Why does my friend keep mentioning him?

A mutual friend of Jon’s and mine, Colin, keeps finding moments to mention Jon in conversation with me. Mentioning that Ian changed his name and changed it back and then that Jon extended his name to Jonathon on Facebook and sent him a friend request. Jon and I aren’t in touch anymore, after we had a mutual misunderstanding, which Jon caused. I’ve made it clear that I don’t want to discuss Jon, so why does my friend keep mentioning him?

This is the kind of thing you would be best off asking your friend directly, if possible. Is there any reason you can't just ask him his intentions?

So, you won't say who this guy is to you (which is really weird), nor will you say what the 'mutual misunderstanding'
(which was all his fault) was about. Though you were very detailed about names being changed and shortened. (again WEIRD)
I mean, what kind of answer are you expecting with such limited INFORMATION? Why can't you just ask this mutual friend? Shouldn't be a big deal.
