What's up with him?

Ok so I need some opinion of some kind. I'm a girl, my crush is a guy my crush gives off the gay vibe (he's done some gay things with his best friend) and my family friends and I see it too but why would my crushes friends come up to me and tell me that he liked me? I think that he is probably bi because his friends told me that me liked me. I didn't believe it. Ok into the good stuff. in terms 1 and 2 he did these things: looked at only me during convos with me, talked about me with his friends, initiated conversations, raised eyebrows at me once, stared in my direction for a really long time a couple of times, told me that this thing reminded him of me and he has been really generous with the compliments. it's a new term and wow. things have changed. he's started avoiding my eyes now and he never looks in my direction in front of his friends, he doesn't talk about me with his friends and he just seems really off. the things he does do is sometimes when his friends around around he does stare in my direction for a while and he still always initiates text conversations with so many compliments omg. what's up with him? is he playing? does he just want to stay friends?

o yeah I forgot to mention that he somehow remembers my birthday even though I've only told him once

Wow, that's a weird experience. You must be a good observer, lol. I'd suggest to forget him and remain normal friends because I see no point in this situation anymore. By the way you are super young 🙂 so take your time! The right man will come along. If a guy truly liked you, he would never act like this.

Whenever you feel like getting played or being confused, do not pay attention to that and simply ignore him back. So he sees that you have changed all of a sudden and see where it goes.

hahahahaha. I guess I am a great observer. I agree with that point. I think that it's better to be friends, if he has to be this confusing then no... I also think that if he did like me I myself may've turned him off because of the lack of interest I try to show him. I even avoid texting him. even as friends. he might've given up on trying to be friends or something.
it's not really feeling played, it's really just extreme confusion. I feel I've been ignoring him too much.
