Why would a man sit diagonally opposite you?

When sitting down together for breakfast (usually at a table with 8 chairs), the guy in question will always sit diagonally opposite me.

Bearing in mind I’m the first person to get there and he’s usually the second so there are no other people sat at the table.

In my experience, that position is perfect if a guy is looking for what I refer to as, 'toe shots', a good detailed view of your beautiful feet. Of course, if you're not wearing open toed shoes, or sandals, etc, then that motive is null and void.

I dunno. Maybe he suffers from stiff neck, and that's the only way he can talk to you comfortably?
