Guys who smoke here, why do you do it?

I never smoked cigarettes because when I tried them in my teens they made me feel dizzy and nauseous. They didn't even taste good. But I did smoke weed and got used to the high. I liked it a lot. And when I got high at work, it was like having fun while working at the same time.

But when I got a serious job at age 26, I quit because I needed to interact with grown ups.

It was about 20 years ago that I bought a Swisher Sweet cigarillo. It gave me a buzz but didn't effect me negatively the way cigarettes had. So I would smoke one occasionally for fun. But they were expensive.

Then, about 15 years ago, something made me consider a pipe. I bought one and found that I could buy pipe tobacco that was pure tobacco with no additives. And the cost is way less than cigarettes and cigars. A 5 lb bag, including shipping, costs like $18.

So now I smoke a tobacco pipe a few times a day. It gives me a buzz but doesn't diminish my mental or physical capabilities. I guess there is an element of oral gratification and/or something to do with my hands when I am on-line.
Pipes look kind of cool and the tobacco smells good. Cigarettes and cigars smell gnarly.
And the nice thing is, you don't have to smoke an entire bowl. I can light it, take a couple of puffs, and let it go out. I can nurse one bowl for hours.

Most people start smoking because of peer pressure. If you dont start smoking by age 18, you most likely won't start at all.
