Why do guys seem happy when they scare a woman?

I was always wondering what makes a Man happy about and even laughing when he manages to give a woman a scare? I'm not referring here to a situation where you arrange some spooky event like: 'I dare you to enter a Hunted house', but rather when you surprises someone by appearing unexpectedly.

Lets assume we try some different reactions.

What if I just stood there, passive?
What if I got upset?
So on.

After going over different reactions the man can have. Him laughing, smiling and then moving on to console if needed is sort of just the most non-threatening behaviour we can show you. So that's it really. Rather than us being sadists us displaying happiness is meant to put you at ease. It is an instinctual behaviour.
