How do I know if a guy still likes me after I rejected him?

A few weeks ago, a guy that I thought was just a friend casually asked me out. I respectfully rejected him, but we have continued to maintain friendliness as we see one another at work regularly. I would hate to seem like I'm leading him on, but don't want to be right out mean or rude. How can I know if he may still like me?

I'm referring to if he may still have hope in dating me. I care because I have maintained treating him with kindness and friendliness, but do not want to be "leading him on" by continuing to be "too" friendly to him as we share a work environment and such situation would be uncomfortable for both of us.

Maybe that is what you should say to him if he asks again. That way he'd know it wasn't because of the fact you didn't like him, or you didn't so no because you work with him.. That's probably easier for the guy to accept!
