Why do men tell ladies to “smile more?”?

Notice how no woman says this phrase. Im not ur entertainment. When im having a rough day, when im just existing, im not there to please u. I have rbf and nothin gets me more kanye west then being called to smile more. This phrase is commonly said by OLDER MEN why 35+

I wouldn't even talk to a woman I don't know. But this seems to be a cultural thing in the states. I'm white and from the west coast and a recent transplant to the East... these people behave and do things I've never seen before. But honestly... I think they're just being friendly. They call girls shit like "sweetheart" when I call women bitches.

I know I'm not where I'm from so I'm still trying to understand myself. People act a little bit too nice which gives me child molester vibes. I passed a lot of places on my trip over to this coast... and I saw a lot of behaviors that were "different" and I believe this 'smile' thing is just local to a place that also has the ears of the Hollywood types.

I'm originally from Hollywood California by the way and the person that would say such a thing out there... probably wants to rape you. Here though... it's waaaaaay different.

I would say guys what women to smile more because it makes a guy more comfortable being around her. A facial expression is the part of body language a guy is most likely to understand so if a woman is angry and bitter all the time guys get uncomfortable being around her since it could make him feel like he´s the problem. It´s also not the case that a woman has to smile all the time I think that´s an exaggeration.
I don´t whether guys tell strange women to smile more since I never experienced that.

Lol ur right cuz my over 30 year old co worker keeps trying to talk with me and he said that phrase to me at 9AM 9AM. Then one time he asked if i didn't like him… im like… i dont talk to nobody im like that with everyone

I perceive it as yet just another clumsy pick up line. It is still better than to start a conversation with "Hi, I want to f**k you, are you available for a good time with me?".

I get that often because when you smile and look at a person (usually male), then they are like an old flipper box and make "tilt". Their brain shuts off, their balls fall into the pit (figure of speech of course) and they get all weird.

The reason why I don't usually smile when I am among other people like in a crowd is simply because I don't want to be harassed by those men that misunderstand my smile for an invitation.

However, when I am with my friends and acquaintances that I know since a while, I am smiling a lot because I know I have nothing to fear.

We don't smile often because we don't have a reason to smile. So telling us to smile anyways, is literally saying "oh we know you rent happy right now but that makes US uncomfortable, so fake smile so we can feel like everything's good, because we won't offer a solution or do anything to give you a reason to smile."

well first you can do whatever you please lol. But PERSONALLY. And this will probably upset you. But after meeting a lot of women. It seems black women are much more masculine and its repulsive. All I want is sex. I dont even want to talk to them. Id actually prefer not to talk. (90% of black women not all)

White women in college campuses are very friendly. I can actually ENJOY talking to them and im not just after sex. I enjoy who they are. + sex.

If you want to be more pleasing to men. Be nicer and more friendly. If you dont care how attractive you are. Be as mean as youd like!

Despite my Golden Boy good looks, no black woman has ever approached me ANYWHERE as have white women. FAR TOO MANY blackwomen are obese and think themselves a black man's superior. I know from personal experience that blackwomen believe they're queens and wish to be adored than treated as an equal.

When men say this to random women it's usually just a weak attempt at breaking the ice. It's easy for women to label the guy sexist or whatever when women don't do the approaching.

Sometimes it's the same reason men say it to other men: nobody likes being around negative people. Granted, we don't say it the same way. A dude gets "lighten the fuck up, Frank, everyone is tired of your stupid face" while a woman is simply told to "smile more"

My last boyfriend said that when we first met and I smiled at him it is what won his ❤️ heart. He loved my smile.
I do smile a lot. Even when I am on here giving my opinion I use emoji smiles because I am smiling while writing what I am saying.
