myself (F 36) got back in touch. Well the Other day he text me saying that he was going to be in town For his nephew birthday, and Text me “see you later?” I said for sure. In the whole night went by and he never text me. I Wanted to throw him a text And Make sure that he’s OK and what not and that he doesn’t owe me an explanation for anything but I just wanna make sure that he’s good. We hooked up like a few times five years ago, but That wasn’t why we were going to hang out. To my knowledge lol. Anyway, is that weird to text him?

As for “see you later” it also means goodbye & in this case I think you kind of picked up a mixed signal.
