What do I say to my boyfriend about the super cringey nicknames he uses for me?

I've been with my boyfriend for 1.5 years. He loves to call me BUBU and uses the nickname DUDU for himself, which makes me wanna crawl into a damn cave every time I hear it. He calls me bubu in front of my friends, because of which they just don't stop teasing me about it. He literally says, she's bubu and I'm dudu, in public, and I've told him to stop multiple times, but he just doesn't budge. He's said that he doesn't care if I think it's cringe, he likes it and will call me bubu publicly and will not stop. I seriously hate these nicknames. What do I do to get him to stop?
