He is likely derranged. How does anyone take that as a good thing. It is an insult and vulgar expression. What else do you think he is going to call you if he knows he can get away with calling you that? My guess is he thinks it is funny that he can do that and then try and convince you that it is a good thing. It is almost conditioning type behavior. I would move on from this guy. He doesn't sound like the type that has a single functioning braincell if he goes around calling anyone that and then tries to pass it off as a compliment.
