Girls, are you surprised, that average men's living spaces look like this?

Some say it's about only getting what you *need* to realistically survive/live. For some 4 walls and a roof, warmth during cold seasons, a sleeping place, a rig and a bathroom is absolutely essential to have. Maybe kitchen too.

Me says "too broke". That's why.

I'm literally eating away my paycheck and risking my money with swing trading. I sleep on a mattress on the floor.

No, I am not surprised at all. Looks like what every bachelor I ever met had, and I'm not judging or being critical in any way. It's very basic. Not stylish, but simple and fairly neat. Honestly that is much tidier and cleaner-looking than what I have seen before. :D

Here pretty much everyone I know owns a house.

I’ve not lived in a flat since university and have constantly upsized on houses.

Even the silly pallet bed would work just make sure the wood is heat treated not chemical treated and give them a good hose down and scrub and soak in the sun before bringing inside. it's not the most ideal but it's cheap/free

Where I live we don't have a water hose. I'm thinking of wrapping the wood, that comes into physical contact with my mattress with some plastic sheets and tape.

Those rooms looks completely fine to me. I just recently started decorating my house more but even as a woman I struggle with decorating. The only places I make a effort are in my kids rooms

Very true. I had a 6 month supply of meat in the freezer and a 1 week supply of beer in the fridge with a bottle of ketchup, and some bbq sauce. Not sure what else a guy needs
