I heard a male hygienist at a dental office say this one time about being in Portland, OR. I thought it was a very unmanly thing to say

Some people tend to forget that we are actually people we do feel things fear is one of those things we all have fears even the manliest men in history had fears.

Portland was fairly safe like 12 years ago but currently it has pretty bad issues with drug abusers and mentally ill homeless folks. And from what I hear that cops aren't that great about responding to calls, lots of protests, typical of that kind of area.

Another thing to remember is that courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.

It really depends on where you go in Portland, too. There are bad parts of town just like any other city. It's not just lawless insanity everywhere that the media likes to highlight.

I agree with what you said about fear. I don't think of a man as less manly because he admits to fear. Very well-put.

@TheRealPepperPotts I knew some people about 10 years ago who lived in portland and from what I understand it was fairly safe back then but as for how it is now I can only talk about what I've heard and what I said I didn't hear from the media just from some people who live there stating their experiences.
