Because they know he isn't able enough to get love as you do to him. No one else would treat him as you do. But same time he isn't interested in you but only wants to keep getting what you give.

It's like when there in summer days when fan is on we don't give it attention also forget it's presence even when it continuously taking care of us. But when electricity go away we miss it we crave for it and we realise it's presence and want it to get back serving us. And when it starts again for some moment of time we do remember it presence but then again we forget about it's presence.

Begging is perhaps strong. Some guys don’t realize their feelings till it’s too late and the girl has stepped away from the relationship. Some guys aren’t mature enough to process their feelings when they’re with a girl and realize after one or two bad turns that they had a great girl in their presence and want her back. 🤷🏻‍♀️
