What does this situation mean?

Question

So i texted him (my attractive coworker and my crush) a long paragraph and told him about how he followed me etc and he said i was recommended to him which is weird because i was "recommended" to him after the secretary added my account to Viber again after o returned to work.

He saw my name there and BOOM he followed me a few hours later. He also told me he is single but didn't reply yet to me. I don't know what this means he was so sweet to me again today and stared a lot but why he said "he didn't think about anything when he followed me"?

He also said thanks for being honest and upfront.

So he just followed me because i was recommended?

I recall before I dated my second girlfriend, (we worked together so that's relevant) she would talk to me for ages I didn't even notice she was flirting.

My colleagues said it, a waitress who was a mutual friend said it but still I did nothing as I thought it was some convoluted joke where I'd express my interest and everyone laughs at me, the butt of the joke because by every possible metric she was superior to me so weeks passed and she had the opportunity so made a move and that I couldn't argue with as proof

my take is he's saying this becuase he doesn't want to seem like he's creepy for randomly checking you out.

I agree with @WhitneySnow he's interested but shy. so if you are too maybe you can make a move yourself? or if you don't like that try to just chat him up more and make him feel more comfortable to where he can ask you out without fear.

I think he is afraid of your reaction. Guys sometimes justify one or another of their actions when they don't think. Agree, it would sound very bold if he said "I follow you because I want a relationship". But while it is difficult to judge something, it takes a little more time. I think that step by step it will become clearer.

I have a friend 30 years younger than me who worked at the store I shopped at a few years ago. Facebook "recommended" her to me and I added her not realising it was the algorithm not an invite from her.

She accepted the request and we had a laugh about it, and we're still in touch even though I left England again about 4 years ago. I'm married so it wasn't a crush (as far as I know) either way.

Just enjoy yourself. See where it goes. Two of my best friends are 15 years ago gap and been married 25 years this year. Take one day at a time and see where it goes.
