It is quite funny. As you add in uncorrelated requirements the probability of a man meeting them becomes low. It's a power law. e. g. 1 in 3 men are single and 1 in 3 are 6 ft which means 1/3*1/3 = 1/3^2 = 1/9 are single and 6 ft.

It is not that simple of course because 6' men might disproportionately earn more but also might be more likely to be coupled up and not available.

If a girl has list of 17, 1 in 3 men have qualities, then there would 1 man in the US that would likely have it all for her. He gets a vote too so it will be a bust most likely.

There is a deep chord I think. All the Prince Charming fairy tales have this theme. In most Mills and Boon novels, the high value man rapes the heroine in 50% of them and then falls deeply in love with her. The heroine can forgive the hero for the rape because the poor boy was overcome by her beauty and charm - the rape was quite understandable.

So if only 15% of the population is 6 foot plus and only about 3% are in the dating age range, 97% of men are filtered out automatically. This is why many men are opting out of dating sites as they are subsidizing hookups for the top 5% of men.

As you point out, a few criteria gets women down to a small number of men very quickly. The top 3% men in your example might want a top 3% girl but most likely will be happy fucking the top 50% girls and not feel much need to pair bond at all.

Really? I think it is more a function of where they live. Where I live probably half of people with a halfway decent job makes over 100K. Cops, construction workers, mid level managers and technical people are all in the 100K+ range. It is so expensive to live here with the high cost of housing and the high taxes that you need 100K to just get by.
