Does it sound like my ex was lying?

My ex contacted me asking if we could work things out. I now live 8 hours away and we split 3 years ago. We’ve been speaking for a month. He’s already cancelled on me twice, first reason was he said he was working and the 2nd time he said it was because he wasn’t well. I told him we can just be friends and stay in touch but he insisted on working things out. And he insisted on meeting this weekend but wouldn’t confirm plans. I kept asking but he wouldn’t give me an answer.

Yesterday he was supposed to fly to me but wouldn’t tell me what time the flight was. He kept gaslighting me saying he already told me when he didn’t. Finally around 2pm, he told me when the flight supposedly arrives at the airport. He told me it was at 3:25pm which it’s true there is a flight that was due to arrive then but I didn’t believe that he was on he plane because he was texting me when the plane had already taken off. If he was on the plane he wouldn’t have been able to text. He told me to leave him alone and then blocked me. I had no way of contacting him to see what was going on. I feel really horrible. I don’t underhand why he would do this to me. I said we could be friends and he insisted he didn’t want to be just friends and insisted on visiting. Why do this?

My goodness, this is a very messy "lasagna" of issues. Exes are exes for a reason... He's not treating you nicely... you see that, right? It's probably one of the reasons you broke up to begin with...

We tend to forget the details of breakups over time and idealize aspects of our exes (if we broke up on neutral or good terms), which leads to this sort of thing.

Step away from the exes... find a new person.

This is why you don't talk to exes. Especially ones that are eight hours away and three years removed. Why would he take a flight if he lived eight hours away?
