Why does my friend let classmates he barely knows who live in our student housing on campus use his car its our first year in college we are freshman?

He got my dream car an Acura RSX our high school senior year. It was in mint condition. We are best friends but he never let anyone drive it in high school. He was very particular about the car in high school washing it at least once a week. He cleaned the interior weekly he was so detailed he even polished the pedals with Armour All shine. He let's me use the car whenever I want but it was not until after he started letting classmates from our student housing use the car. They trash it use it and abuse it. I have reported many incidents of people using his car but just joyriding it around senselessly revving the engine hard. Driving it like they stole it. When I tell him about these incidents he does not even get mad. He almost appears to get aroused with a smile on his face he would question how hard do you think he revved it up? You think he smashed his foot on the gas pedal all the way down. He dont care, it's just a car , sounds like he had fun, and so what he used my car to pick up girls, nice. Someone is always using that poor car driving it trashing not being careful with it. It won't last much longer at this rate. My friend seems to enjoy letting anyone drive it. He seems to become excited when he hears a story about someone he let use the car was revving it hard or driving it hard Why? Last night I used the car to get something to eat and there was a cigarette burn on the passenger seat. The check engine light came on.
