Sell him your car if he gets insurance for it (which includes uninsured drivers), then YOU borrow the car when needed, replace the gas you use and any repairs to damage while in your possession
THIS is the only way AND never take anything less than full payment in cash, else be holding the bag full of damages, & excuses.

All this makes sense... to him... and seems he's able to sell your brain on anything that suits him best. A real Lover would ride the bus to protect your car, save up for his own car and now you both have transportation backup for emergencies or LD travel.

It depends on what relationship you have. If the relation was really serious and you are truly trying to build a life together I would let my partner use the car. But if you are just in the trying out phase I would not.
well there is the clear point of the bus actually reaching destinations quicker and cheaper. outside of that do you trust him enough with your car

Yes, I would give it to him, obviously if you guys trust each other and love each other enough then you should share everything together, this is actually the GOAL of a relationship, to share everything :)

I would be asking him to pay half of the insurance and that he's responsible for making sure it's returned with a full tank though
