If you haven't yet agreed to date exclusively, do you feel comfortable dating more than one person at the same time?

When I say "at the same time," I am not asking about going out with two different girls next Friday at 8 pm. I don't think many people would ever agree to such a thing. I am talking about going out with Sandy on Friday night and going out with Valerie on Saturday night, then Sandy maybe next Thursday, and Valerie the following Saturday. I have done this three times in my lifetime. The first time, during my promiscuous younger years, I had a sexual relationship with two girls at the same time. That only lasted about three or four weeks, as I felt guilty about it. The second and third time, there were no sexual relationships when I was dating two ladies at the same time, and I quickly (within 3-4 weeks) chose one to pursue and said goodbye to the other.

I pretty much feel the same way you do, except I’ve never had a sexual relationship with two people at the same time. But I have casually dated two people at the same time (in fact, one was my current boyfriend, but I quickly picked him over the other guy once I realized he really liked me).

In the first stages of talking, I see no problem chatting to multiple women at the same time. But when I actually start dating, and I see good potential after the first date, I will focus on that lady completely. Any other contacts I might have at that time, will end.

This happened when I first met my wife; I was chatting with her and another lady online. As soon as I saw real potential for a relationship, I told the other lady about it (I don't ghost people; bad news to end a contact is still better than silence) and ended that contact, in order to focus completely on the better match... And I feel I made the right choice; we married almost exactly two years after our first date, about 2,5 years ago now, and still going strong!

I think @brainsbeforebeauty said it best, I too, would never date more than one person at a time! I don’t have any great philosophical reason for it, I just don’t feel comfortable dating two guys at the same time. I’m not stupid, I’m pretty sure that many of the guys I’ve been dating, I’ve been dating other women… But I’m only dating him, I don’t own him or have any claim to him. So it’s not really my right to expect someone else to live by the same moral or ethical code as I do especially if we’re only dating.

I don't see the point in meeting with more than one woman at the same time. If we're already at the dating stage, I'd like to get to know her as well as possible and also show myself in the best light. My job often has unpredictable hours where I have to be on call and ready to go to a specified place, which makes it difficult for me to schedule dates. If I were to mix up names, topics we talked about, or anything else, it would be a disaster. I respect people who reserve their time for me, and I wouldn't meet with two women at the same time out of respect for them.

No, because what if you end up being exclusive with one of them? Then what would you tell the other person and how would you tell them without it getting too messy?

I like to put my interest and focus on one person at a time so they know that I'm serious about them/my feelings are genuine and hope that they will do the same.

I would set up 2 or 3 dates a week but if I didn't think it was going anywhere it was one and done. Once a third date was set up I ended it with the others. 10 first dates in a month is exhausting though

Of course! I've been comfortable doing it. I've done it extensively throughout my life and probably dating multiple people at a time has been a lot more frequent than just dating one person. I get bored very easily.
