The only guys that ever approach me are older men. Why is that?

I'm 19, turning 20, and since I was about 16, I've only been hit on or approached by older guys. If I was 16, a 36-year-old would find me attractive, and when they figured out my age they would back off and be surprised at how young I am. My whole teenage life I dealt with that. With that being said, I never got approached from guys my own age and that was concerning for me. I'm in college now and I get approached by older men now. They are surprised that I'm younger. Most of the time I would ask them "What makes it seem like I'm older?" and it's always "how you carry yourself" "you look mature" and "you sound mature". Why is that?

You may come over as confident and mature, most guys will know you are younger, I think some guys use it as a sort of excuse ‘oh really I never realised’ 🤥

The main thing is you are okay with it and make it clear when you are not. As to why guys in your age group are not interested or showing interest, pass, you would need to ask your friends.

It just means you seem mature for your age. But also, older guys have come out of their shells much more so and have learned to just shoot their shot with anyone they find attractive. When you're younger, you tend to be have a lot more repressed feelings you don't act upon and it teaches you to try and live without regrets.

Exactly what they said! The way you conduct yourself lends an air of maturity. Im a HS teacher and I've seen both genders conduct themselves FAR beyond their chronological age.

You obviously come across as an older head on younger shoulders which is not necessarily a bad thing. Chances are there will be a sweet spot when everyone sees you as the age you are. But for now, it is what it is.
