What would cause someone to suddenly become popular?

I haven’t changed anything (I think) and I’m not more social than I used to be. Why are people suddenly nicer to me and curious about me?

How sudden was it? Did the change happen overnight, or are you just now noticing that people have been treating you differently for a while? And are these the same people, or is it a different crowd?

It’s the same people and I just noticed that since about 2 months they’ve been friendly when they used to ignore me or give me dirty looks

How long have you known these people? Maybe you've been acting friendlier toward them too but haven't noticed it. It's easy to not notice changes in your own behavior. Things like this don't just turn on a dime with multiple people for no reason.

I’ve known them for about a year and hardly ever talked to them except for one person
