If I'm leaning against anything it's because I'm tired. Generally it's something I'd do at the end of a long day. If I've been on my feet a lot maybe my feet hurt, maybe it's my ankle, my knee, or my hip so to avoid discomfort, I would shift weight from the leg that hurts onto the other leg that doesn't and then use my arm to prop myself up to balance with two limbs. I don't tend to put my hands on my hips that often, but if I do it's because my shoulders or elbows are tired and I have to keep going. My arms are muscular and heavy. So if I feel tension in my shoulders or neck or my elbows are aching from over exercising and I'm generally exhausted, I might take a deep breath and pause for a moment an put a hand on a hip as a short rest before I get back at it. Smiling just means I'm in a good mood or someone said something funny.
