Guys, Am I too close to my boss?

After chatting to a friend its got me wondering if im too friendly with my boss (he's 37m im 32f and we are both married with kids)

Basically, she saw me laughing at one of his messags and saw we share lots of inside jokes, memes, emojies etc and it got me wondering if thats normal.

We rarely talk about things other than work and we know eachother really well and i supose it can be seen as flirty on the outside (?) At one point he was messaging me on the weekend but must have thiught better of it as that stopped over a year ago.

What do you think? Its that a normal boss employee relationship?

I don’t see much of an issue w it. As a boss you meet a lot of nice people, but you’re forbidden from being friends w them which can suck. But I see why it’s like that. Some other employees may feel like you’re playing favoritism to a subordinate. I joke a lot w some of the women I work w. Some more way than others. We talk about other things besides work. I mean really if you’re at work who wants to talk about work? I sure as hell don’t. We have many inside jokes as well. Just be careful though you don’t want him being accused of playing favoritism.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to outgrow your first employer experience now that there is work on one's own schedule you could get more out of the experiences and indulge in benefits from other talking-based opportunities.

Sometimes staging classified ads with cheap hourly locations and high pay and switching categories by the week or two makes a meal for two last that much longer

That sounds fairly normal, as long as the conversations basically stay about work and happen at work.

That's the big thing; you two seem to have a pretty defined line about restricting the interaction to work.

If it's just an long- or short-term affair then don't change anything. Stay married and stay at your job.
