Male friend who’s not close asks?

I have a distant male friend and we were talking on chat generally and suddenly he asked me are you saving urself for marige.. ? ‘ n was v apologetic for askin it bt still did? What does tht indicate in terms of his feelings? wt could be the reason for this question from a males perspective. ?

It's not the question I have a problem with, it's the apologising for asking it. Let me explain:-

If he was to ask the question in a nonchalant manner and then move on without making anything of it, I'd have said fine.. a reasonable question to ask, .. it's just that apology, as if he had an ulterior motive for asking,, it's as if he backtracked when he thought you may have been offended!

You got an excellent point. But I think the reason he said was cause in our culture we are very reserved women so maybe that was the reason… so not to offend me but regardless what do you think of the reasoning behind it, is it become or interest,?

I cannot claim to know about your culture. Clearly rules, and how a person asks the questions about those rules are different from one culture to another. If you believe his intentions were honourable, then I would have no basis with which to argue that point.

I’m not sure what his intention even was on the question that’s why I asked lol but now that I recall correctly I was taken back on the question and went what! So that’s when the apology came in casual apology not like he begged it lol
But regardless why would any man ask that, thats the really question?

Reason for asking the question.. hmmm.. It could have been just out of curiosity and then when he realised what he'd asked and your response to it, then thought, oops why'd I ask that for? The other reason of course is because he is interested in you with regard to a potential relationship.
