Six dates and my crush hasn't kissed me yet, is that normal?

So, this guy is my old classmate from highschool. It's been 7 years since he liked me but we are only now starting to see each other. Ofc during these 7 years he didn't wait for me but he texted me during summer and here we are. The thing is: we get along quite well everything is ok but no kiss. There were already so many opportunities and still nothing.

Near the lake date, bowling, night walk at the park. He says that he knows what he want, that we like each other but our dates are just talking, walking hand in hand, a bit of flirt and nothing else.

He's def not shy, he has seen quite few girls before me but nothing serious as he said. And with me he wants to do things differently. Also, he's going to South Korea at the end of the month for 10 days and I think that's why he hasn't kissed me yet (to have fun there perhaps).

I see two possibilities:

1. He puts a high value on your friendship. I don't know your age, but if you both are still young, 7 years is a lot. Being friends with someone while you have a crush on him is difficult to manage. Trust me, I've been there. It might be that he isn't interested in you in this way. Either way, I think you should ask him if he feels something special for you. It's the only way you're going to know for sure. Be prepared to accept NO as an answer.

2. You may give off all the signs, but as men, we are not very good at reading those signs. Be more explicit. Steal a kiss from him when you say goodbye after a walk. Where is it written that men should make the first move? He might not be shy, but he might still be unsure where this all leads to. Give him the space and time for him to make up his mind. 6 dates is long, but look at it this way: he respects you and isn't interested in other girls. He only wants to spend time with you.

His trip to South Korea has nothing to do with it. 10 days may be enough for him to start to miss you. All benefits to what surely lies ahead.

Yea it sounds like he likes you but just likes you as a friend and doesn’t want to mislead you , especially if he is leaving , probably because you were classmates and doesn’t want to give you the wrong impression that something more can happen between you both. I have close girl friends that I hang out with as friends and we sometimes flirt jokingly but that’s how far as it goes between us. Tbh I don't think this is normal since it has already been 6 dates... lmao. From experience, usually, a guy always tries to kiss me on the first date or as soon as he gets a chance lol. I do think it's great that he wants to show you that he can be a gentleman and do things differently with you. However, it is a bit strange. Not sure about his background, so it's a bit hard to say why he isn't kissing you. I can only imagine he does not want to mess anything up if he holds you as high value. I do suggest on your part to kind of take the lead on giving him hints verbally and nonverbal language. For example non nonverbally, when you guys are hugging, you can start kissing his neck a little lol. An example verbally, you can be flirty and say something such as "I wonder what kind of kisser are you? Are you good at kissing? What do your exes or girls usually say about your kisses?" lolz. Dude isn’t serious about anyone. Yea probably doesn’t want to feel bad if he has fun over there. Say if he met a girl and started being serious with you he’s still a punk honestly.
I think in the depths of his mind he’s stringing you along because he felt strong along by just being friends with you for seven years. Honestly is a cowards game.
If there wasn’t all that detail and six dates in no kiss is a regular for someone like me. Mostly because people can carry all types of nasties in and on their mouth. Second I don’t like saliva or breath. Lastly I’m not giving my energy or investing my energy into someone it doesn’t need to be invested in until I feel I’ve properly vetted them.
