Why does this guy always take days to text me back?

I DM this guy last year on Instagram because he do tattoos. He responded to my message very quickly and he was able to come do my tattoo 2 days after I text him. 8 months after he did my tattoo he DM me and asked if he could get my number so he could get to know me. I gave him my number and he would only text me once every 4-5 days even though he was constantly online posting things. After 2 months of him doing this I decided to stop talking to him and I told him I was no longer interested because we aren’t really getting to know each other we haven’t been on a date yet and I don’t like how he’s only responding to my messages every 4-5 days. It has been 3 months and he recently text me again on instagram we had a consistent conversation for two days but now he has not responded to my message it’s been 10 days and he’s constantly active on Instagram. Why does he keep contacting me if he’s clearly not interested

It’s probably because either he’s taking to a lot of people or he’s found someone else. People who don’t communicate are cowards. Not responding in 5 minutes is one thing people get busy. But my gosh it shouldn’t take days to respond to someone.

People need to be honest when they have lost interest respectfully. But a lot of people also like keeping someone on the back burner in case something else doesn’t work out.
