Why would a guy call me out for not texting him back but when I do text him back he takes forever anyway?

Well i told him that I'm not a big texter. Which is true I'm not playing games. I took 8 months off my phone for a new years resolution. I am freshly back on my phone and I met a guy. Well being on my phone texting him back is something that's not constantly on my mind. I usually go on my phone twice. In the morning and at night before I go to sleep. Sometimes I don't go on my phone for an entire day. I thought he wasn't a big texter either because he would take a day off too. But lately he's been calling me out for not replying back in a few hours. So I been trying to compromise in a way to make him happy. When I text back he takes hours to reply back anyway. So I'm like wondering, why does he call me out on taking forever when he is doing the exact same thing? I'm confused. Is he playing games?

It's just how it is, I don't immediately get back to people most of the time. I wait at least a few minutes, I hate feeling pressured. Someone does it to me though? My mind goes in amillion directions questioning why
