Guy says to me in hall that his friend finds me pleasing? Good or bad?

Recently i transferred schools and this happened and it is my 2nd day here and i barely speak with people, only the girls. Why do boys do this? I also had this happen at my old school where a boy would annoy me for a year and be cocky but his friends would always say when he's near them that he likes me. Do boys do this when you are ugly or bad? Im shy and im short and i have a good figure (hourglass) and my face is average i guess (long lashes visible cheekbones wide mouth clear skin) but some negatives too ofc. Anyway everytime i told my friend about boys doing that to me, she always says they are just doing it to make fun of me :/ But at my old school most of the boys in my class were really nice and some would try to befriend me even though im shy. Is that boy making fun of my looks or behavior? Another boy has also just assumed that i am a naughty or freaky girl for no reason. When she started here that she did almost at the same time, they didn't do that to her :( But that guy who finds me pleasing stared at me a couple times in class and when i walked past him with my friend he looked some times today when we saw him alone.

I think he likes you, but he is afraid/ashamed to approach you. Maybe he even asked a friend to tell him that he likes you, because he was afraid to do it himself. I think it is worth waiting a little if his sympathy for you should be stronger than fear, so he should start acting soon. But if in 2-3 weeks he does not approach you. Maybe you should take the first step and just talk to him and after that it will be easier for him to ask you out.
