I once went to an interview for a “marketing assistant” position. When I got there and saw the reward wheel, the product that was basically a scented vacuum, and the fact that I asked more questions than the interviewer, I realized very quickly they had changed the name from salesman to marketing assistant in order to attract more people into this door-to-door pyramid scheme. At the end of the interview I was very plain and told them that this wasn’t the job I was expecting and left on decent terms. They ended up losing their rented office space within the next 2 months.
Couple of people i know went to this "really smart high school" who were went into this Pyramid Scheme. They went UC, and USC in California.
I don't get what world i am living in.
@cupcakethedestroyer Was that "marketing assistant" job offering regular pay for those door-to-door hours? Because if not, you could report them to the Department of Labor even now and recover treble damages. Employment is not something you want to mess around with, the penalties are enormous.
If they were offering pay, it would have been worth it, because you would work certain hours and get paid. It wouldn't matter if it was a pyramid scheme or not.
Usually pyramid schemes don't want you going door to door, they want you signing up people to do the same thing you're doing.
And who goes door to door in this world anymore anyway? No one has ever come to my door trying to sell something, other than that religion with the white shirts and black pants and black ties.
And if you want to see a great and scary movie about all of this, look at Salesman from 1969.
No, but I had to accompany a guy with a tendency to fall for these scams to smack him out of it.
