I had a very good friend that was gay.. For years he hid it. I had no idea and neither did all the other kids. After we graduated from high school we did not see each other for a couple of years. We met up one day nd there was something different about him. It was not some stereotypical trait andit is not something that I can describe but after a while I just looked at him and asked him straight up if he was gay. He looked at me and told me that he was. . I was shocked and a little freaked out.

If he introduced me to someone as his boyfriend/husband. If he asked me out. If he said "I'm gay". If I walked in on him having sex/ making out with a man. Point is, there's no secret gay handshake.

Just of the top of my head: the way they talk the way they walk the way they think about things, the rest of a gay/lesbians body language. How they dress, like if you see a man with a exposed naval you know their gay. If their trans it even more obvious than with Gay/Bi/Les people as one look and you know.

I suppose you can tell if they exhibit behaviors of the opposite sex. like a guy who acts, dresses, or behaves like a woman is gay. and a woman who acts or dresses more like a guy with short hair is a lesbian. is that right?

Thats one one way there are many other ways like the ones I've stated and ones i forgot to mention or haven't even thought of yet but would immediately notice in a IRL scenario.
