My guy friend and I were supposed to hangout but he never answered my texts and it's been 2 days?

This guy I've hung out with before wanted to hangout again. We were supposed to hangout Friday (2 days ago) but he didn't message me at all Friday and an hour before we were supposed to meet up I messaged him. He never responded. I messaged him the next day, no response, still today no response. He was going to come pick me up. He told me the day before we were supposed to hangout that he can for sure come pick me up, and that we can hangout, and he seemed excited. Why would a guy ignore a girl when he had plans with her? He's told me in the past he is really busy with college, but he hardly texts me, or anything. If a guy really likes a girl wouldn't he find the time to talk to her, even if he's busy, or could he not reach out to her that much, but still like her?
