How come it feels icky to talk to an 18 year old as a woman but for a lot of men they find it fine?

I was talking to this guy online and everything was going great until he said he was 18 and still in high school.

I instantly got the ick from that but a lot of men my age or higher would go for it just because it's technically legal.

I think that's up to individuals. More female school teachers have been making the news for sleeping with underage male students lately. I'd probably sleep with an 18-20ish year old if it was convenient, but wouldn't consider any sort of relationship.

Like I can't think of anything we'd have in common or could build together. More so the word liability comes to mind. The word icky is too broad, and I don't care for it. Ones like drama, broke, unrelatable, and immature get the point across better.

Yeah I don't know. I don't get it. I guess women are more likely to look back on that age and remember how childish we and the boys around us were. I see 18 year olds as basically children. I have a rather wide range of ages in my friend group the youngest currently being 22 and when she does certain things even at that age we're all like , she is young she's still learning life. (We all are)

I don’t know, maybe it feels like taking advantage of somebody. Everyone is different too so for some people they wouldn’t have a problem so long as they can build a genuine connection with somebody.

But there are people who enjoy talking to people under the age of 18 as well. They do it because it’s wrong and gross that’s what gets them off.

Because you're a woman, not a man. It's a fact that in general women are attracted to older men, and men are attracted to younger women. That has always been the case and it's rooted in human biology. The things that women value in men (maturity, stability, established career/income) increased with age, whereas the things that men value in women (beauty, fertility, health, ability to carry and raise his children) decrease with age.
