Is it awkward for a 30 year old man to be hanging around with a 22 year old girl?

I asked this girl from work if she wants to hang out sometime, and she said, "Yes."

My mom says she's too young for me, and I should be hanging out with girls my own age, but I have a very young mental/emotional age, and I vibe really well with this girl. She's the only person in real life that I'm really close with and share stuff with. I haven't gone out with anyone in over 5 years, and she's like the only person I met in real life, who acts like a true friend.

So is it really that big of a deal that we have an 8 year age gap?

I'm starting to get girl 7-10 years younger than me too now since 3 months of grey blended on sides... It's frightening to me. I have decided that 25, giving them 4-5 years in corporate world, is a good place to start, This is for me but I am a firm believer that one matures in failure and struggle. Very few come out the gate working for Pfizer, Halliburton, Chevron, Equity Fund etc... One has to learn that they have Not (Jonathan Edwards) before one knows what they have. 25 is like bumps and bruises but not destroyed...

She’s a woman, not a girl. If she’s willing then there’s nothing wrong with that age gap. As long as you don’t treat her as the lesser for being younger. One of the reasons girls mature faster than guts, on average, is because of the shit that they have to deal with in life on a daily basis.
