Why do men act interested then leave your messages on read?

Thing is people read to much into the whole "unread message." Maybe they are busy, or don't have their phone with them, but also older guys especially, grew up before the days of texting and such, we dont always have our phones permanently attached to our hands. As an older guy myself, we may be interested, but we are also older and there is a different way to approach us and get our attention. Don't think or read to much into the "Unread Message." He will get back to you when he has time.

What about if it's FB Messenger and they are active on FB or you sent a message 20 minutes ago and they were active 5 minutes ago. If they have enough time to spend 30 minutes on FB clearly have enough time to read 2 sentences and answer "yes" or "no".

@Mwolf did they read the message on FB and just didn't reply, or is the message still marked as unread? I guess the thing is with that they could also see that you were online too and waiting for a response back. I'd give them an hour and then ask them for an answer, if they still read it and then don't reply, that should give you all the answers you need.

This whole topic is exactly why I disabled most notifications, chat bubble and active status lol, being tracked and generating assumptions like this ain't fun at all

Honestly it is better to not constantly respond, think about the feeling of anticipation when you are waiting and finally your phone buzzes - but it’s not him.
Then when he finally does you feel happy & a sense of relief, wondering if there’s other girls besides you trying to get his attention.


Yet, if he constantly responds to you immediately you won’t feel that same rush.

He figures he's hooked you enough so he can go act like the other girl he's talking to is his one and only. Got back with an ex. Different Opportunity for sex faster and so on. Or playing PUA mind games with you. Our age group honestly sucks.

I think some or possibly most guys don't live on facebook, etc. these days. We don't mind messaging to a certain point, but once it becomes a full fledged discussion it should be a phone call or talk in person type moment.
