I met a guy on an app about a month ago. He asked where I was from, I told him and now a month has passed. He's asking where I'm from again. Could it be that he forgot where I'm from because he talks to so many girls?

Ehh, that's kinda sketch sis. I wouldn't want some dude forgetting basic stuff I already told him, you know? Makes me wonder how seriously he's actually listening or if he's just going through the motions chatting up tons of girls.

Could be an honest memory lapse I guess, we all have moments. But asking the same question twice like that would give me pause. Personally I'd be wondering how well he's paying attention to ME specifically if he's forgotten already, you know?

I say don't give him too much more of your time and energy until he shows he's really interested in getting to know YOU. Keep it light for now - see if he asks any other personal questions to show he cares beyond just surface level chatting.

Pay attention to red flags girl! Some dudes just want attention and don't care who it's from. You deserve someone who makes you their focus, not their distraction. Give this one a bit more time, but don't get your hopes up too high yet either. Proceed with caution!

I mean it is entirely possible that is the reason and then entirely possible that it isn't. I would be more concerned that a whole month has passed and you don't really seem to be talking. At least that is the vibe that I am getting is that you don't have a lot of communication. I could be wrong because there isn't much context. I just meant that you said a month has passed and figured that meant you hadn't talked in a month. Maybe he is just forgetful. He also may be talking to a lot of people and not remember these sorts of details. Given that you aren't dating or involved with each other (again no context) he can do so. It is some sort of app to meet people so the likelyhood of him talking to more than one person at a time is high.

Oh it stands to reason. So we actually talk but he didn't even ask like this "sorry, I forgot. Where are you from?". He directly asked "Where are you from?". I was surprised cuz I remember things about him

i mean i’ve been on the apps and messages be flying left and right. it’s hard to talk with one person at a time.

it actually takes a bit of practice before you become more deliberate about who you text and getting invested in the conversation. i caught myself not remembering where this one lived or what that one did for a living or when was the last time i spoke with the other

that being said, if he doesn’t have a handle on it then he’s either killing time on the apps or not completely interested in you. doesn’t matter which. you said it yourself, you remembered specifics about him while for him it’s like the first time you guys talk

writing is on the wall. don’t waste your time

don’t be discouraged, that’s just how you weed out the bottom of the barrel on the apps. someone else will come around and have better style/manners
