Why would a guy have someone else ask me something instead of himself?

basically he didn't know if i knew his name so instead of asking me he had someone else do it cause he didn't want to look like a dork, why not just ask me himself and also he is the team lead at my work so i think he would have better communication skills. it was more awkward how he got other people involved then if he would have just asked me himself. how am i supposed to get along with someone who can't even communicate with me directly.

Aw girl, don't be too hard on the guy! Some dudes just don't have the best communication skills when they're nervous around a cute girl.

It's super obvious this dude thinks you're fine - otherwise he wouldn't care so much if you knew his name or not. He was just too chicken to ask ya himself!

Guys do dumb stuff like get their friends to break the ice or send indirect messages when they're feeling shy. We don't always handle those feelings the best way.

I'd say laugh it off - don't make it a big thing. Next time you see him, smile and say "hey I'm ______, nice to officially meet you!" That'll put him at ease.

Then chat with him one on one so he sees you're friendly. Once he relaxes, I bet he opens up more. Don't judge him too hard for one little awkward moment!

Give the guy a chance - sounds like he really likes ya. And who knows, once he gets more comfortable, he might surprise you with how sweet he is. You never know till ya try!

I don’t think it’s any different because at the end of the day he’s still just a person. There’s no good reason not to get along with him just because he didn’t directly ask you that very simple question.
