Are men ever competitive over women?

I was watching a tv show where two really sexy women were fighting over this one really ugly guy. One of them got really jealous and nasty when the other one slept with him, saying she’d broken the girl code. Women don’t often act like this, I hope, but clearly sometimes, they do. Do men ever behave like this over potential mating/dating opportunities with women?

The thing that gets me is that acting jealous isn’t going to stop others from being chosen over the jealous person. Being jealous and mean just pushes the object of interest further away. I’d have thought.

But that said, my friends and I all have different tastes in men. There’s only been one time that my bestie and I liked the same guy. I like the Cat Stevens/Barry Gibb (in their younger years); look. Hairy. The others like men that are tanned and sporty, skinny, pale and gormless, or rat faced and short.

I like intelligent and kind men, by personality. Usually quieter guys, with some exceptions.

I think this one dude was competitive with me mostly to be a bully (he was one anyway), I did manage to win over a girl he liked, but she turned out to be not much different from him. Lol

Young guys and older guys that never matured. Good women make their decision and then it doesn't matter what the other guy does. Guys understand this about good women. That good women cannot be swayed once she chosen her guy. If she can, then he did NOT pick a good woman. This is why if a woman ever tries to make me compete with another man for her attention I always tell him he can have her then I walk away. And invariably after it flames out between those two she always comes back to me. At which point I tell her to get lost.

Respect! I give it. But I expect to get it back.

You’re right. They’re going to be dead set on one particular guy, usually, or not interested in either one, quite enough to choose either one and it’s offensive to be hit up as a final option by desperate people.

like it or not, life in general is all about competition

men also have to compete for resources, their survivability, their rights etc.

parents who don't fight for their kids to get into good schools end up sending them to shit schools

mother nature in the wild has always been competitive since the dawn of time

everyone is competing and doing so in different ways including character assassinations of others or propping themselves up or ridiculing the concept of competition itself to sound "morally superior"
