Friends after rejection?

Would a guy be comfortable remaining friends (after some time and space) with one of his close female friends if she confessed having feelings for him but he didn't feel the same way?

I had a guy friend I confessed to and we remained friends until he died when I was 26..
I told another guy I liked him after we used to talk on the phone to each other everyday for 3 months and he said he didn't feel the same way he said he liked someone else. I asked if we could still be friends and he said Nah he doesn't feel comfortable and deleted me off his socials. 4 months later he hit me up saying he felt bad he said we couldn't be friends and wanted to be friends again. I said yeah sure.. but I never hit him up after that because I already mourned the friendship and genuinely didn't care to be friends anymore. So I guess it depends on the guy.

Yes, because if it doesn't seem to bother her, it's not going to bother him.

I remember the first girl that asked me out. It didn't even occur to me that a rejection from me COULD hurt her. Because the way it played in my mind was she asked me out because I was gettable. It never even occurred to me that she actually chose me.

Now he might not be comfortable remaining friends with her if she can't move past the rejection.

That would depend on her behavior. If she's able to accept that and continue as friends, then he may be comfortable with that.
