Male or female? I'd assume they were projecting their own insecurities. Don't feed them anything, just keep doing your thing. One comment is just people being jerks. Continued comments or persistent behavior is bullying, and can be confronted calmly and with curiosity.

Just remember that their goal is to stop you and control the situation because for whatever reason, they don't like it, it makes them feel awkward or it reminds them of someone. It's their personal issue. Always remember that when people do that, it looks really bad on them and most people think less of them for it. This isn't on you. If anything, let it motivate you to dance more often and become the best you can.

I took ballet for almost a decade; in my opinion, dancing is physical emotion, and everyone has the right to express their emotions in a constructive physical way, both happy, sad, even angry. Don't ever let someone shut that down because they have a personal opinion. Just my thoughts. :)
