I met a guy at my job who said he’s had his eye on me for awhile. I asked him what was he looking for.. a relationship or friend? and he said he has been hurt in the past so right now he’s just looking for someone to be comfortable with. What does that mean?

To me, what he said is the equivalent of “going with the flow” or “seeing where it goes”, and from my experience those statements are just a guys way of saying he’s going to waste your time but making it sound appeasing or hopeful. If I were you, that would be a deal breaker. He’s emotionally unavailable due to his baggage, and until he does the work to heal, he will always use his “past hurt” as an excuse to be noncommittal and opportunistic with women.
