It’s a matter of responsibility. Your income determines what you can afford. Do you earn enough to support your children? To have a roof over your head? To go on vacation? For her to stay home with the kids and manage the household if she agrees to it?

For some women, this might tie into the man's role in a relationship, and that’s why they might see income as part of masculine traits. However, for me, a man isn't defined by his earnings.

Not necessarily. That’s just her perception of masculine. she's basically just trying to tell you what a masculine man should be. Trying to play on your ego by saying some stupid bs like that. A lot of women tend to do that to men by trying to tell us a real man would date fat chicks. A real man would date a girl who has kids already. A real man would date a girl who has a huge body count. It goes on. Pay no attention.

Of course not- but since provision of resources IS part of what attracts a woman to a man, it'll make women (though not necessarily A woman) more attracted to you.
