Not strange at all. He probably has a girlfriend, sister, or another woman in his life that he’s buying them for.

In did that for a girlfriend. I think she did that partly to test me. As an engineering student, I want to Walgreen's and read labels for technical features and picked one I thought fit the application the best. I know I got side eyes from women but I ignored them. It was actually fun.

If I had lived a life where genders are separated, where basic biology wasn't taught, where periods are portrayed as impure then yes, it would REALLY look strange to me. Fortunately, it's not life as I experience it.
