Guys, I confronted 2 guys?

As a black woman I confronted two white guys because I thought they were laughing at me. They said they weren't laughing at me and they apologized to me for me to think they were. They said there's nothing about me to laugh at. Do you think they thought I was pretty? Because all they could ve said was they weren't laughing at me. I'm curious because after I confronted them they were completely silent and quite.

When they're completely silent and quiet because if you took them laughing incorrectly then they're going to be careful not to put out any anything else that you can take personally you're incorrectly. Either they really were laughing at you and lied to you which is doubtful white people interested around and laugh at black people in my experience chances are they're laughing about something else and they didn't want to have you get any more upset especially in today's climate where you have to like really walk on eggshells because everyone's looking at white men in particular to the lens over we're all racist and part of the patriarchy and all that. It really kind of sucks because someone like me spent my whole life like imagining and hoping for like a color blind society where we just really followed in the words of Martin Luther King Jr and jet fuel by the content of their character or like Morgan Freeman said stop calling me a black man and I'll stop calling you a white man and maybe we'll just call each other man. But unfortunately we've gone the opposite direction and now everything is is totally framed in the context of your race and your gender and everything else and it's like f*** are we ever going to be able to get along long enough to mount some kind of resistance against the system and we're busy worrying about people that we've been told are different than us. We all look pretty much alike since we're from the same planet and we all come from the same place we all come from that 120 or so people in the center of Africa that made it and survived and spread out and had babies so it's really kind of funny to me that we think people are from different places or are different so different that we can't even like judgment individuals we have to like put them in boxes and generalizing stereotype them. Anyway I digress. I get it. We have to pay for the sins of our grandfather's, but my grandfather was put in a gentrification School where they beat him if he didn't speak English because that wasn't his native language so you know it's really hard to judge people I look white but my great grandfather was a medicine man you know I mean you never know who you're judging and I hope those people weren't judging you or laughing at you and if they were f*** them they're f****** ignorant f*** heads and if they weren't they were just trying to be careful and you know cautious because either out of respect or out of fear but those are pretty much the only three reasons it that situation could have occurred in my opinion sorry to go on and on but I tend to just ramble on tangents

Sounds like after being asked about it, they were embarrassed to realize that their attempt to reassure you, could be taken another way. It's a problem for guys that talking to women can be kind of a minefield.

When you confront someone, you open a door for them to confront you back. Why not just ignore them? They didn't hurt you.

Chances are they were more worried they were being singled out by you and didn’t wish to cause a scene.
