Did I give my girlfriend the ick?

I was at the Arcade with my girlfriend and another couple (double date). We were having fun, and they decided to go the to the punching machine, and my girlfriend was excited to see me punch. The other guy punched and scored 950 and he was proud. Then it was my turn, I know I can't punch, I punch, and I score only 250, they all laugh. The other guy's girlfriend punches and scores more than 300, they all laugh at me and are shocked. I say it was just a mistake so I punch again and score even lower. I felt bad cz the other girl was laughing at me and smiling at my girlfriend, letting her know I can't punch. My girlfriend acted kinda differently after that, and I think she views me as weak now. Its been 2 weeks since then and she sometimes brings it up and says that the other girl is sometimes making fun of me being weak, and that it was embarrassing for her.

So, punching is not your forte and so what? Is your girlfriend so superficial to judge you on your punching technique. If that is the case, she is not the right one for you because having a weakness is something that everyone has. If that is the case, then you better separate from her because you are never going to hear the end of it.

While you may not be the Cassius Clay of the punching machine, you may have other assets that they don't but you don't challenge them on those assets. See how they are going to react when you challenge them and the others are doing a lower score than you.

It's not too late to salvage this. Ok you can't throw a punch but you might can take one well. That takes strength, to take hits and not fall down. So here's what you do. Get everybody back together and have them all repeatedly punch you in the face to prove your manliness.

Reminds me of that episode of The Office when Jim wasn’t winning ping pong against Darryl each time and Kelly would rub it in Pam’s face. Ultimately Pam wound up challenging Kelly to the game.
